"I could of written a book, me."

Hmm, perhaps - but not without some help, if you think the word 'of' is appropriate for this sentence! And don't even start us on 'your' versus 'you're', over-used commas and the four-dotted ellipsis...

(Tsk tsk, George Lucas!)

Why editing matters

Your target audience - prospect customer, potential supplier, or bookworm - wants to read the correct words, in sentences which have been structured accurately. FACT! After all, what good is your communication if it makes little or no sense to the reader? More than simply looking poor, it can be the difference between a customer sale and a customer sailing away.

Quilbert for (Editorial) President!

Finding typos and grammatical faux pars is our forte. It's what we live for. Our world. Our everything! Not just because we're pedantic, obsessive Deputy Commissioners of the grammar police - but because it helps YOU to look FABULOUS!

So, if your job role involves writing and you find it a chore, or you love to write but value what your audience thinks of you (which you should, by the way), then save yourself a headache and take a Quil pill! Time for the cape-wearing experts to fly in, rule book at the ready to keep you on point!

Read through again and get clear on all that's needed to improve the text: are we talking the odd comma, or every last word?

REWRITE!

Whether it's 't' crossing, 'i' dotting or a complete overhaul. And once we're done, REPEAT! Another read, revisit and, if necessary, rewrite!
